Meet the Team - Sam Kennedy
We are thrilled to congratulate Sam Kennedy, who has recently passed his Sales Specialist Accreditation with Volvo Cars Poole. Since joining the team in November 2023, Sam has quickly become an integral part of the Sales team, thanks to his extensive product knowledge, especially in the realm of electric vehicles.
Achieving this accreditation involved completing around 50 modules and attending several day courses at the Volvo Training and Development Centre in Daventry. Sam gained an in-depth understanding of Volvo’s brand history, electric vehicle technology, and key features across models like the Volvo XC40, Volvo XC90, and beyond. One key focus was on Volvo’s commitment to safety, a central theme throughout the training.
Reflecting on his journey, Sam shared how the experience was valuable, not only for the technical insights but also for the opportunity to connect with other salespeople across the UK.
Prior to joining Volvo Cars Poole, Sam spent five years with Peugeot and Citroen, seeking a new challenge and finding it in Volvo’s reputation for quality and innovation. When asked about his favourite experience so far, Sam highlighted the moments when customers express their appreciation:
"Some of the customers make you feel really special. They go above and beyond for you, and it’s always nice to hear positive reviews and know you’ve made a difference."
Sam’s passion for Volvo is clear, especially when he talks about his favourite model, the Volvo XC60 Black Edition. He enjoys the style, ride, and performance of the car, describing it as the perfect size and balance between luxury and practicality.
When asked about his future with Volvo, Sam is optimistic:
"I hope to keep improving, see where the company and the brand take me, and continue growing with this great team."
Outside of work, Sam is a lifelong Southampton FC fan. He’s been a season ticket holder for nearly nine years and fondly recalls one of his best experiences: traveling to Italy with 8,000 fellow Saints fans to watch them play — an unforgettable weekend!
